Christ the King Sunday in 2012 (EVALUATION)

I received a letter from a church member, after Christ the King Sunday worship service. It was a very helpful note. Hi Ha Na, Your confession prayer was very powerful In it you brought justice inherent to the "kingdom of God" immediately to the centre-points of need. Prayers and hymn supported each other. Once again, I noticed how scriptural language {Christ as King, Lord, Prince of Peace, kingdom, lamb, burnt offering} is not used today, or even appreciated by many people, so scripture, stories and prayer that use the old metaphors tend to lose listeners. For people who have grown up with that language, it's not so much a problem; for others, perhaps first time people, it is. It's a great challenge to make our language today present our Christian stories and experience, certainly for your generation, and for Geordie's.
